Trinity Academic Dean
What is an academic dean?
Your academic dean is responsible, among other things, for monitoring your academic progress, articulating and enforcing the academic rules and regulations of Trinity College, and assisting you when you have academic questions or concerns. The academic dean for premajor students also coordinates the premajor advising system through the Academic Advising Center. Once you declare a major, you are assigned a departmental major advisor and, depending upon the major you declare, one of several academic deans who work with declared students. Your academic dean can advise you on academic programs, courses, and requirements for graduation and careers. S/he can help you develop your plans for study abroad or mentored research and can assist you with applying for scholarships, fellowships, and postgraduate programs of study. You also will work through your academic dean if you want to take a leave of absence from your studies, take course work at another four-year U.S. college or university, withdraw from a course, or withdraw from the University.
The Dean for Psychology Majors is Dean Sabrina Thomas. Dean Thomas's office is Rm 02 in the Allen Building. Her phone number is 684-2075 and her email address is slthomas@duke.edu.
